Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Helix Research Intelligence uses cookies and other trackers on the helixresearch.ai website and on the Atlas platform. It is based on the current state of the code. If new trackers are added later, this document will be updated before they are enabled in production.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file placed on your device when browsing a website or using a digital service. Other similar technologies may also be used.
Trackers currently identified
atlas_session cookie - Set by the API during authentication, it maintains the user session and secures access to authenticated areas. Type: HTTP-only. Attributes: SameSite=Lax, Secure in production. Maximum duration: 24 hours.
_atlas_oauth_cv cookie - Used only when Google sign-in is enabled and the user explicitly initiates an OAuth flow. It temporarily stores a PKCE code verifier. Type: temporary HTTP-only cookie. Attributes: SameSite=Lax, Secure in production. Duration: 300 seconds.
Browser sessionStorage (atlas.projectExplorerHref) - Stores an internal navigation state between project screens. This is not a cookie, but a browser-local storage mechanism cleared when the tab or session is closed.
Strictly necessary trackers
The atlas_session and _atlas_oauth_cv cookies are used for purposes strictly necessary to authentication, service security or provision of the service explicitly requested by the user. As such, they fall within consent exemptions, subject to applicable rules.
Audience measurement and analytics
At present, no advertising cookie, social-media tracker or active third-party audience-measurement tool has been identified by default in the Platform code. The generic analytics module present in the frontend code does not place user-side cookies in production.
If an audience-measurement or analytics tool is activated in the future, its applicable legal regime should be reviewed and, where required, prior consent should be collected.
Managing your preferences
You may delete cookies in your browser settings, block technical cookies - subject to the risk of authentication issues - or clear sessionStorage data through browser tools. Since there are currently no advertising trackers or non-exempt audience trackers, no dedicated cookie preference center is provided.
If Google sign-in is enabled and used, interactions with Google services may occur as part of the OAuth flow. Any cookies that Google may set on its own domains are governed by Google's own policies, under its responsibility.
